Neck & Low Back Pain

The therapists at Performance Physical Therapy have been providing safe and effective treatment for neck and back pain to our local community for over twenty years. All of our therapists have undergone training in the McKenzie Method of Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy of the Spine (MDT). The McKenzie method is the most highly successful and well-established system utilized by physical therapists for treating neck and back pain. Owner Michael Fay, PT, OCS, Cert MDT became certified in MDT in 2002.

In addition to the McKenzie Method, each therapist at Performance Physical Therapy has also received extensive postgraduate training in other approaches to spinal care, such as manual therapy and spinal stabilization exercises. This enables us to offer our patients the most effective treatments, based on the most up to date clinical research available.

Research has demonstrated that all patients with neck or back pain will not respond to the same treatment. Following a detailed evaluation by one of our experienced therapists, each patient will receive the specific treatment approach that will most likely lead to a successful outcome based on the nature of their particular problem.

Treatment may include manual therapy such as soft-tissue mobilization, joint mobilization or spinal manipulation, cervical or lumbar traction as well as therapeutic exercise for strength, endurance and flexibility. We also believe strongly in educating our patients about the possible causes of their problem and how to use correct posture and proper body mechanics to prevent their pain from returning in the future.

Performance Physical Therapy is referred to by over 200 physicians. We have set the standard for a commitment to excellence in the treatment of neck and back pain!
